Zoom on our famous cliff of « La Mine d’or », geological classified site, unique in Europe
In Pénestin, each member of your family will be pleased to practice his favorite activity (swimming, hiking, beaches, cycling,… and even paragliding for further feelings !).
Though the estuary of the river “la Vilaine”, (the biggest one in Brittany) it is nevertheless a privileged place to practice kayak at any time or kite surf when very windy. This place is also perfect for leisuring and birds watching (also typical flora).
Should you prefer swimming, sailing or just going for a walk along the coast, you’ll enjoy the Atlantic side.
Our bigger beach, called “la mine d’or” is also famous for its cliff which is a geological site, unique in Europe! This beach is the safest one for children to swim in summer; its location (west) and its height (about 15 meters) make it also a ideal area for paragliding (the only place to practice this activity in the whole department).
In Pénestin you will also enjoy the countryside, paradise of walks thanks to wooden walk path. These ones also meet typical Breton villages with their patrimony such as “fountains, outdoor staircases (Some of them are from the 15th century) and such”.
Of course we’re in Brittany so we’ll have to accept a tonic ambiance. But beware as well Pénestin is situated at the very south of Morbihan. No doubt we are in Brittany according to the landscape; however the weather looks more like the one in Vendée. The river side also protects us from the wind coming from the west!
